We believe that children should have a meaningful place in our church that is safe and engages them at their level of understanding.
On Sunday mornings, we begin our time at church all together, with all ages and stages sitting together. After a short time, our children and youth move to various programs based on their learning stage.
We offer classes for infants (3 years old- year 1) and primary (years 2-6) in our Barnabas Centre (adjacent to our main church building). Our kids’ program follows the God’s Big Story Curriculum, a six-year program designed for age-appropriate instruction that introduces children to God’s wonderful work of salvation throughout the whole Bible story. A morning at kids’ church consists of Bible teaching, singing, memorising verses/catechisms, games, crafts, and small groups. It is a lot of fun!
All the children return to the church building with their leaders in time for morning tea with the rest of the congregation.
For babies and toddlers, we have a “family corner” equipped with toys to the side of the church, where parents are welcome to sit for the service with their young children. We also have a “cry room” in the main church building where parents can continue watching a live stream of our service in a more private/quiet space while caring for their child. We love having children in church with us.
All of our children and youth leaders have Working with Children Checks cleared by the government. They have also completed mandatory Safe Ministry Training.
If your child is visiting or new to our church, our welcome team will introduce you to our kids’ church leaders, who will direct you on where to go.
