We believe that Youth should have a meaningful place in our church that is safe and engages them at their level of understanding.

Matthias Youth (Years 7-12) meet from 7-9 pm on Friday nights during the school term in the main church building. The evening is filled with games, food, a Bible reading, a short talk explaining and applying the Bible in age-appropriate ways, and discussion groups.

In addition to our Friday night youth group, there are also Sunday Bible studies run for different age groups. Years 7-9 youth meet during our 10 am service. They begin in the church service will all other ages and stages, and after a few minutes walk with leaders to the cafe (Jozo) next door to the church. Each is allowed a cafe drink while they study the Bible together, discuss, and play games. Years 10-12 youth meet on Sunday afternoons in our Barnabas Centre (Church Hall, adjacent to the main church building) from 3:30-4:45 pm.

Matthias Youth also runs a camp every year, where we get to spend extended time together, growing in relationships formed around God’s word. 

All of our Matthias Youth leaders have Working with Children Checks and have completed mandatory Safe Ministry Training.
